a scottish fairytale
warm smiles genuine care daily surprises little gifts
The staff greeted us with warm smiles and genuine care. They remembered our names and preferences. i felt they anticipated our needs before we even voiced them. our room had daily surprises like chocolates and little gifts for my beloved.
The hallway carpets had a very slight stain near the elevator. It was barely noticeable, but i did see it.

the room featured soft lighting and plush bedding. we appreciated the spacious layout and the meticulous attention to detail throughout the room. fresh flowers adorned the bedside table, a simple touch that enhanced the romantic ambiance.

Really good birthday celebration
warm welcome delicious lunch attentive service birthday treats
Bernadette gave us A warm welcome during check in. Lunch at Brasserie Prince was delicious. Caulder looked after us well during breakfast. I loved the birthday treats prepared for me.
There was a lack of extraction in the toilet. It smelled on arrival.

Staff knowledge of food and drink was excellent, especially in the Whisky Snug. The concierge team gave great recommendations for local food and tours. The doormen took great care of us, securing tickets and taxis.

Spa facilities were superb and not too busy. The pool was fresh. We enjoyed the experience. I spent time in the tea room and the whisky bar. They were both lovely.

The hotel is central, positioned very close to tourist areas. The royal mile and edinburgh castle are within easy reach. The hotel sits literally on top of the train station.

The location was great. It was close to everything. at least that part met expectations.
we booked a junior suite with a castle view. instead, we got a room in what looked to be the turret. it had tiny round windows and a view of... the sky. the receptionist had even said what a great choice of room we had made, so that was a letdown.

concierge team highland day heavy bags
the concierge team assisted with highland day trip planning. they selected restaurants and managed canceled flight logistics. the team transported our heavy bags to the train platform. i am grateful for the front desk's help securing earrings for my anniversary surprise.
The tissue supply was low upon arrival. It was not replenished .

efficient arrangements rainfall shower bottled water
the concierge service was really good. i had requested assistance with transportation, and the arrangements were handled efficiently. my beautiful king room had two separate sinks and a rainfall shower. turn-down service included slippers and bottled water.
the gym had limited hours . so that was slightly inconvenient.

balanced experience
modern vintage clean room amazing staff busy bar resident priority ground floor
the room was lovely. it had a modern vintage feel. i found it to be very clean. the staff are AMAZING.
the bar WAS busy. i had to wait to see if we could get a table for a drink before dinner. i think residents need to be a priority OR have a residents lounge. the ground floor perhaps needs an upgrade.
